Elder Care Planning & Protection Against Financial Abuse
Tuesday, June 6, 2017
11:30am to 1pm
Monroe Auditorium, Lansdowne Woods, Lansdowne, VA
Complimentary lunch and informative book provided
The fastest growing segment of the American population is those 85 years and older. Almost 50% of those age 85+ have some cognitive impairment, and about 70% of people over age 65 will need some type of long-term care during their lifetime. Aging and chronic disease can also increase vulnerability to financial abuse.
For example, Mickey Rooney’s estate could have been worth hundreds of millions when he died in 2014. Instead, he endured financial, emotional and physical abuse at the hands of his eighth wife and one of her sons, and died with only $18,000 left to his name.
We will discuss important topics including:
- Long-term care planning
- Navigating the financial and investment waters to make sure your assets are protected
- Ensuring you have the right estate planning documents in place to plan for incapacity and guard against financial predators.
